Professional Experience

After graduation, my partner and I were compelled to travel and volunteer in a different part of the world, to immerse ourselves in a different environment and help people. We spent 3 months traveling throughout Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Peru and Uruguay participating in various cultural and community experiences. We then lived in Buenos Aires for 2 months creating music and art workshops for impoverished children in the city. During this time I learned the art of macrame from a local artisan, changing the trajectory of my life. We returned to the States, and I began my jewelry business, fusing hammered and forged metals with woven elements. All my creative energy went into this line of work and the business flourished. AMiRA jewelry has been shown and sold all over the world, featured in French Vogue and the acclaimed Anthropologie. My designs have been a vehicle through which to explore color, texture, form and scale. I continue to show and sell my jewelry, however, my need to create in a two dimensional painting medium remains strong and true. I have always toggled between these two creative worlds; wearable, sculptural art, and painting and drawing. I am forever fascinated by color interaction, form, illusion, and depth, and will further explore what this means to me personally and in a larger sense.

This is my first approach to the process of selling, showing and sharing my paintings and drawings in a professional venture.
